Common questions

Everything you need to know about writing, sharing, and collaborating on Thinote.

What is Thinote?

Thinote is a simple cloud note app for writing and sharing Markdown notes in real time. Create a note, share one link, and collaborate with your team instantly — no setup or downloads. Notes save automatically to the cloud, so your ideas stay accessible on any device.

Is Thinote free?

Yes. The Basic plan is free forever and includes 100 MB of storage (notes and images together), image upload (4 per note), sharing with up to 6 people, folder sharing, canvas notes, export & import, and real-time collaboration — no credit card required. Paid plans (Supporter $5/month, Pro $10/month) add more storage, unlimited image uploads, unlimited sharing and folders, and version history.

How does real-time collaboration work?

Share a note's link and everyone edits the same document live. You see each person's changes as they type, with their name shown in the editor. Thinote syncs every keystroke to the cloud automatically, so no one overwrites anyone and nothing is ever lost.

Do people I share with need an account?

Yes. Anyone you share with signs in with a free Google or GitHub account to open the note — this is what lets Thinote show who's editing in real time and keep everyone's changes in sync. You control who can view or edit, and links can expire depending on your plan.

Can I use Thinote on my phone?

Yes. Thinote works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, and phone with the same responsive experience. There's nothing to install — open the link and start writing. Your notes stay synced across every device automatically, so you can pick up exactly where you left off.

Is Thinote secure and private?

Yes. You sign in with your Google or GitHub account, so there are no passwords to manage. Your notes are stored privately in the cloud and are only visible to you and the people you explicitly share links with. You decide what stays private and what gets shared.

What counts toward my storage?

Your plan's storage limit is shared by your notes (Markdown content) and the images you upload into them. The Basic plan includes 100 MB total; Supporter includes 650 MB and Pro 2 GB.

Start writing. Keep it simple.

Free to start. Your notes in the cloud, always.
